Jack Ledwick died in September 2009 at the tender age of 92. He was the longest serving member of the Modern Mystic League with 70 years membership, joining in 1939.
Twice President and winner of many awards over the years, he was a fine magician and proud of his ventriloquial act. As an indication, he performed one year on the Gala Show at the Blackpool Convention.
He was born in Oswaldtwistle but resided most of his life in Blackburn, a textile engineer by profession, he was very much a family man with five children and several grandchildren. He was multi-talented, an accomplished watercolour artist who exhibited, a classical pianist, a keen photographer and walker.
It was his personality that was so endearing, quiet, authoritative, and extremely knowledgeable, with a delightful wit and sense of humour. He is greatly missed.
